Are your shelves overflowing with books you no longer need? Want to make a difference while clearing some space? If you’re a student at Overbrook High School, the Drama Club has the perfect solution: donate your books to their book drive!
This book drive, organized by the Drama Club and led by Ms. Bowe, partners with BookSmiles, a nonprofit dedicated to putting books in the hands of children who lack access to them. Since its founding in 2017, BookSmiles has distributed over 2.4 million books to kids who need them most.
There’s even an incentive! If you donate five or more books, you’ll receive a 10% discount on your ticket to the school’s upcoming theater production of Charlotte’s Web. According to Ms. Bowe, many children haven’t had the chance to read this classic, and the play aims to share this beloved story with a new generation.
Ready to make a difference? Bring your book donations to the Drama Club’s collection bin outside Ms. Bowe’s classroom in the E Hallway. Every book you contribute will go toward fostering a love of reading in kids who need it most.
